A Permanent Resident can obtain Canadian Citizenship in Canada after meeting the Residency requirements to obtain citizenship.

Individuals who had temporary status and meets the Permanent Residency criteria to apply for Permanent Resident. e.g., Refugees who now need to apply for Permanent Resident, or students/workers who have resided in Canada for the qualifying period.

Under this program, a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident can sponsor their Spouse, Common Law Partner and dependent children of the person being Sponsored within Canada to obtain Permanent Resident status.
